There’s a scene that takes place every weekend at the Ace Hotel and Swim Club in Palm Springs. Trendy, 20- and 30-somethings descend from LA and SD to take over the retro-chic property in search of sun and poolside cocktails. I was eating lunch at the Hacienda at Warm Sands in Palm Springs last Tuesday in 92-degree heat and an hour later I was working off the meal on a hike in Mount San Jacinto State Park, where it was a very comfortable 60 degrees. If you can get yourself out of the hotel gym and out in nature for a walk or a hike, while you soak up some sunshine and hear the birds chirping, it will not only elevate your mood, but get your blood pumping.
